Welcome to Rose and Redwood

Welcome to Rose and Redwood

I’d like to be able to sketch out the entire plan for Rose and Redwood and to tell you exactly where this is headed, but I can’t. This is more intuitive than orchestrated. However, I do know the calling. The heart is the heart of this endeavor. It’s based in love. Becoming an “authentic” person – accepting my strengths (and weaknesses), getting in touch with my values, allowing my true self to come forward – has been an important part of my personal journey. And I’d venture a guess it’s an important part of the journey for you, too. Perhaps Rose and Redwood is best described as a company that intends to support people in expressing their true nature.

My first goal is to put a critical message out: Nurture your true nature.

Many of us are trapped in pain because we’ve been suppressing our true nature to fit in, or we’re going against our grain to stay in something that no longer fits. We try to avoid our emotions. Or we cover them up with busyness, alcohol, shopping, gambling, drugs… whatever helps hold it all together. But when someone sets out on the path to find their true nature, they find rest and rejuvenation. Wholeness. Balance.

I’m a big fan of feeling balanced and whole. That’s why the Chinese symbol for balance is in the center of the Rose and Redwood icon. (Look at the turquoise center).

My second goal is to help children find their true nature for leadership.

If you know me, you know I’m a writer. And a mom. And a step-mom. And a leader. And a teacher. I’ve had my own business for almost a decade. I’ve taught writing classes at the university level. I’ve been a Vice President and I’ve been the person sweeping the floors. But most importantly, I have a heart for mentoring people to uncover their potential. My gift is helping people find their special, sparkly inner light.

I am writing a story about a young girl who is on a journey to find her true voice – her true nature. She’s facing some big challenges, but she’s surrounded by wonderful friends who join in to support her cause. The story teaches compassion, collaboration, curiosity, and self-empowerment. And it’s being transformed into a leadership program for children aged 7-12.

Why? Because we need more true leaders.

And when we learn skills early on, it’s much easier to integrate them into our lives.

My third goal is to help people find joy in being themselves.

Have you ever sat down to understand your values and why you have them? Or had someone help you find your strengths – especially those dusty ones you haven’t used in awhile or the ones that were criticized instead of celebrated? I’ve been working one-on-one with individuals on this. Perhaps unsurprisingly, each one has found some internal ‘a-ha’s,’ resulting in a positive life transition.

The programs have been developed but they are not meant to be fully launched, at least not at this point. If you’re feeling an inner nudge to work with me, we’ll know whether it’s the right time and fit. Reach out.

I ask for your help.

There are 3 simple things you could do to support this endeavor:

  1. Please take a moment to send positive, loving thoughts and prayers to this endeavor.
  2. Visit our store. Consider buying a t-shirt that spreads our message and / or support the development of the children’s leadership initiative.
  3. Give yourself a hug – or give yourself a compliment. Or both! When you nurture yourself, or allow your true nature to emerge, it feels good. Take a moment to feel good.

Claiming your natural wholeness brings healing- to yourself and to the world.

I read and I felt the story behind Rose and Redwood! I know this unique program will benefit not only the age bracket defined but it will filter up or down and benefit others. To develop young leaders of our one and only precious world is a win-win!

Thank you! I do hope your insights come true – to create a positive impact on young leaders but also to create a ripple effect that helps those around them, regardless of age.
