Rose and Redwood

About

Rose and Redwood is a company focused on connecting people to their true nature.

Founded in 2019 by Erika Hovland Bahij, the company spreads the message Nurture your true nature® through products and services helping people feel renewed joy.

  • Our clothes are designed to feel like a warm hug from a good friend.
  • Our programs and our messages are designed to inspire.
  • Our goal is to remind people to play and rest well, so they can find space to nurture their true nature.

We help people NURTURE THEIR TRUE NATURE. We provide support to help people tap into their innate strengths, their values and purpose. Our work is inspired by nature (literally and metaphorically) and helps people find balance and joy. We believe joy, balance, reflection and growth are all connected – and you can see this in our logo:

Reflection: The letter R (one for Rose, one for Redwood) are reflected on either side of the logo. Reflection is important when you seek balance.

Growth: The bottom center of the logo represents a seed being planted. It symbolizes growth and the incredible heights you can reach when you nurture who you are. Centered at the top of the logo is a flower. The petals are small circles, representing how we grow when we are in community.

Balance: The middle holds the Chinese symbol for balance. Balance allows you to handle the polarities we experience in life. And that results in joy!

Why is the name of the company Rose and Redwood?

ROSE:

A rose represents love. By encouraging love in all its forms, we make the world a better place. Roses grows alongside other roses. They crave sunlight. They want to see and feel the light. Just like people. A rosebush needs pruning and shaping. Just like people. There is another meaning, too: Many of us are getting ready to rise up and find our true voice. Once you rise, you say “I rose.”

We choose to help people say “I rose.”

REDWOOD:

A redwood is known for its vitality and longevity. The redwood symbolizes wellness and wisdom. When a redwood is cut down, a new one sprouts from the roots. The roots never die. Redwoods can withstand fire. They are the fastest growing trees. At the top of a redwood forest, there is a whole ecosystem of ferns, trees and shrubs that are lifted up by the strength of the trees.

We choose to use our strength to lift people up.
